| She started as a film programmer in the film department of the Walker Art Center International Museum of Photography in Chicago. In the past she has been a jury member at festivals in Belgrade, Montreal, Karlovy Vary, San Francisco, Sarajevo, Sochi, Turin and Vancouver. Alissa Simon is also a journalist, working for the prestigious magazine Variety among others. In 1999 she won a Chicago citizen award for her work at the Film Center of the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. She has been working as a film specialist for more than twenty-five years. | |

In 2011 Festival Finále in cooperation with Jan and Ivana Lukeš published already the fifth book of the Finále Edition. It has been dedicated to Vlasta Chramostová and Stanislav Milota.
