| Born in Náchod, he was interested in amateur photography from the age of 10, and in films from 15. In 1979 he emigrated to Munich, where he developed his film hobby from time to time. After a year he decided to leave for the US, where he started to work as a cinematographer and editor, making several auteur films. After November 1989 he spent two years in Italy, working on the multimedia project Fabrica. Since 1996 he has lived permanently in the Czech Republic, where he has made a number of distinguished documentaries. He works with the Faculty of Documentary-Making at Prague's FAMU film school. | |

FINÁLE EDITION
In 2011 Festival Finále in cooperation with Jan and Ivana Lukeš published already the fifth book of the Finále Edition. It has been dedicated to Vlasta Chramostová and Stanislav Milota.
