The 23rd festival of Czech films is gone. All of you who visited its screenings and events, thank you and we hope you come back to Pilsen to watch the new Czech films in the following year. 24th festival of Czech films Finale will be held in Plzen from April 17 till 23, 2011.

The programme of the 23rd year of festival Finále was completed by film "2Grapes" directed by Vlad Lanné, which was introduced by actresses Jana Švandová and Alice Šnirychová. Jana Švandová accepted her part mainly due to her amazing film partner Jiří Krampol and really looked forward to working with him. Alice Šnirychová was allegedly chosen by the director because her type matched Miroslav Táborský quite well. She found director Vlad Lanné interesting right when they first met. "I looked into his eyes and say a young, crazy, creative Russian," she said to the audience.

This comedy about various types of women and relationships between the sexes and generations was at the end of the festival brought to Plzeň by director Jiří Vejdělek. His "Women in Temptation" begin with the revelation of a banal affair. Then grandma Vilma, played by Eliška Balzerová, enters the film. Before the screening the director said, that he had a dream about Eliška, and in this dream she slapped him. He called her first thing in the morning and offered her the role. According to him, 70% of quality of the film is in its cast. The film itself was present by Pavel Anděl saying that it is one of the latest films, which the visitors of Finále can see this year. Jiří Vejdělek commented on that saying: "I hope it will also last ".

Actress Kateřina Macháčková, who in fairytale "Rain Fairy" played one of the elements - Earth, introduced another of today's screenings of new feature films out of competition. Romantic fairytale "Rain Fairy" was based on a book by a German writer from the 19th century, Theodor Storm, and its director is one this year's film jubilees director Milan Cieslar.

Actors of children parts from the film called Little knights arrived stylishly in full armour - Jan Komínek, Štěpán Krtička, Jan Battěk. The delegation was completed by the young actress Andrea Žádníková and producers Boris Krištof and Viktor Krištof. Boris Krištof, who is the author of the idea, revealed that they originally started making a series and then he got the idea that from the same material a film could be made. The audience wanted to know how the actors managed to juggle school and filming, if they practised fencing and who looked after them during filming. "You made a very good film, which has future," a woman from the audience praised the filmmakers: "I believe that in 15 years we will watch Little Knights on Television every Christmas as it is with Cinderella now."

A traditional talk show about music was at Finále presented by Zdeněk Suchý. This time his guests were Viktor and Vojta Dyk. Right at the beginning Suchý let both boys choose who would like to be the fiftieth guest of Finále. The evening was very relaxed - at the entrance the visitors were served a glass of whisky... Both guests chose music videos, which they like and then talked about them. "There is only one music.And those who make it, can be divided into those who try to make it and those who actually make it," explained his choice Viktor Dyk, who had explained to the audience how he got from jazz to listening to bands such as AC / DC. His cousin Vojtěch by coincidence chose two music videos that were made by the presenter of the talk show himself.

23rd festival Finále congratulates filmmakers of awarded films. The main award Golden Kingfisher for the best feature film won Kawasaki´s Rose directed by Jan Hřebejk. In the category of documentary films, Land od Destiny directed by Pavel Kolaja won the main award. But the festival awarded other prizes at the closing ceremony.
